Remark
|
In order to achieve maximum homogeneity and continuity in
quality and workmanship, Swissmetal tolerances on both alloy
components and impurities, are significantly tighter and more precisely
defined than indicated above. |

| Main Technological
Properties |
A heat treatable
copper-nickel-phosphorous alloy. Our B98 has medium to high mechanical
properties, good electrical and thermal
conductivity, good cold formability and is suitable for
welding. Our
B98 is particularly resistant to fatigue stress and has excellent thermal
stress relaxation properties. |
| Some
Typical Uses
|
Our
B98 has various uses in the electronics industry. Springs, contacts,
clips and other connecting items are made from strip. Rods and hollow
rods are used as electrodes, jaws and contact rolls for welding purposes. B98
in strip form is a good substitute for many low beryllium alloys such as
CuCo2Be / CuCo1Ni1Be / CuNi2Be (UNS
C17410...C17510). Our B98, with the additional benefit of increased
strength, can also be substituted for Cu-Fe-P alloys (UNS C19400...C19750). |

Our B98 has a high and positive standard potential of corrosion. Consequently, there is a risk of galvanic corrosion if it enters into contact with material of lower standard potential, such as steel containing less than 13% of chromium. | ||
| B98 is not sensitive to stress corrosion |
