Does Avins supply Beryllium Copper? |
- Avins supplies a thorough range of high
performance copper alloys including Beryllium Copper in many forms.

Can you deliver raw material just-in-time? |
- Yes. We establish JIT stock programs for
specific customers on a blanket order basis. We stock in our
regional warehouses as well as in our mills.

Is the price for an order firm when we issue a blanket order? |
- Yes. In general, we firm the price at
time of order. Or, at customer request, we are able to float the
metal basis to be firmed at time of production.

What is the minimum quantity? |
- Minimum order quantities depend upon
products, dimensions and alloys. For example minimum order
quantities can range from 50 to 1000 lbs.

How is the fabrication price determined? |
- The fabrication price is a function of the
conversion work required to produce the finished product.

Does Avins have multiple mills for a particular product? |
- No. We partner exclusively on a long term
basis with the leading semi-finished metal producers. Our mill
partners have complimentary product lines.

Can you comply with ASTM, SAE, DIN, EN, JIS, MIL, AMS or other
specifications? |
- Yes. We produce all materials per
specification without exception.

Is the material going to be consistent from lot to lot? |
- Yes. Our production partners lead in the
control of integrated manufactory processes that yield unmatched
consistency both thorough each production lot and from lot-to-lot.

What is the lead time on delivery? Door to door? |
- Lead time depends upon the market demanded
situation. Normal production lead times are in the 6 to 8 weeks
range. Transit time depend upon the production origin. Door to door domestically
ranges from 2 to 5 days. For European production door to door times
range from 3 to 5 weeks.

What is the advantage/disadvantage of lead (Pb) in rod, wire or tubing? |
- Lead (Pb) in the metallurgical structure
functions as a "chip-breaker" that facilitates machining
processes. Avins' free machining products maintain especially fine
and well distributed lead particles allowing optimal high speed
Swiss machinability.
